Playstation Vita (PS Vita)

E3 2011 is already over, and in case you still haven’t heard, before E3 (took place last week, June 7-9, 2011) it was rumored that “Sony NGP” will be named “PS Vita” instead. I thought it was a bad name, and apparently other people thought so too. We all hoped that it was just a rumor, nothing more. However, it is now confirmed (confirmed in E3 2011) that Sony PSP’s successor, which was called “Sony Next Generation Portable” before, will be named “PS Vita”. Yes, it’s official, that’s the name of the end product, set to be launched end of this year. I still think the name’s a bit weird though. But at this point it doesn’t really matter I guess. We were used to calling this upcoming device as “NGP”, we’ll get used to calling it “PS Vita” by time.

You can see the logo of PS Vita on Sony’s PS Vita official website, and we have the image of the logo down there too (below this article). The price of PS Vita will be from $249, as stated on its official website. At a very affordable price, PS Vita will be able to compete with (and probably own) Nintendo 3DS. It’s surprisingly cheap considering the features of Playstation Vita. Dual-stick control, highest definition, compact 5-inch OLED display, multitouch screen and rear touch pad and whatnot.

We all already know about the much boasted graphics superiority of PS Vita, but what’s more interesting is that many PS Vita games will be compatible with PS3 version, which means you can play your favorite games on your PS3 and then save and continue with the game on PS Vita while you are on the go. Games like Little Big Planet, ModNation Racers, and Dragon’s Crown, amongst others will be possible for this cross-platform gaming environment. What else could you be asking for? Sony has made it possible, so game on, guys!
